Individual and Group

As a young child I was fortunate to have parents who fostered the arts and encouraged me to follow my dreams. However, they also knew that time-investment and interest is important to achieve the best possible results. As a dedicated teacher and professional musician, it is my goal to share the enjoyment of music with you.

Hard work and practice achieves results, and I encourage daily practice from students that is appropriate with their age. To help you to attain realistic results, I will provide students with an initial assessment in the first lesson and assign repertoire. It is highly encouraged that you bring an instrument and/or the music books that have been previously studied.

My teaching methods are mainly classical, and I use the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) and Suzuki books, but am more flexible when teaching voice. (I can teach popular music if you bring your own music to the lessons.) It is recommended that you purchase the original copy of the RCM or Suzuki at Long & McQuade Musical Instruments because the originals are necessary in exam settings. If you do not plan to take examinations, I can provide a course package with supplementary material for a modest fee (to pay for the printing costs).

Lessons

I provide the following services

60 minute lessons for students aged 13 and older. (I don’t offer shorter lessons to older students, as more demanding repertoire requires more time, and students have a longer attention span.)
45 minute lessons for students aged 13 and younger.
30 minute lessons ONLY for families of 2+ children that come on the same day.

Family discounts (10% discount) for families in which 2+ children take lessons with me.

In order for students to understand, study and analyze music better, I provide tutoring sessions for music theory and music history. I teach violin, viola, voice, piano and music theory/ music history in any combination that you would like. It can be combined in hour-long sessions–(30 minutes of music theory and 30 minutes of piano, for example). A more thorough musical background is also required by the Royal Conservatory of Music system, and I can help you to prepare for music exams and competitions.

Please contact me for lesson costs, and I will get back to you promptly.
